Essay on Duality

There is one person in my life that has always been there for me though the thick and the thin, my mom. She was a single mother that raised both my sister and myself while working 3 jobs and getting her Masters in education, yet every night we sat down and had a home cooked meal together. She is the mom who always told me that I could do anything that I could do if I put my mind to it. What makes the relationship between my mom and me so special is that she is not only my mom but she is also my best friend. There are times that I call her 2-3 times a day just to say hi, and then I also call her to vent over the things that are stressing me out from that week, and of course she is always there to respond with the best advice possible. My mom and I always send pictures back and forward to each other of funny animal pictures just to get a laugh. Then there are the Saturdays that we stay in the house when it is cold outside, and start a fire, play scrabble and the watch an episode of the Tudors while we chat about how my sister is being a rebel and why Henry VIII decided to divorce Cathrine of Aragon for Anne Bolyn when he is just going to behead her a couple of years later. It is days like these that I am lucky to have with her. She is also the person that if she did not have enough time with me on the weekend, she will drive up to Lawrence and take me to dinner just because she wants to. Honestly I am so blesses to have her in my life and I am thankful everyday to have her as part of my life, and I do not know what I would do with out her. In basic terms I am a mama’s girl and I always will be.
